Oriental beech (lat. Fagus orientalis) - broad-leaved tree of the beech family with solid, heavy wood of uniform color. It grows in the Krasnodar Territory, in the North Caucasus, in the Crimea (Russia). The most valuable is the Caucasian beech. The species is well polished, and gives an excellent veneer. Bending ability is 20% higher than oak. Ideal for making parquet, valuable furniture with curved elements and luxurious patterns. Beech parquet looks no less spectacular than oak or ash, but costs less. Caucasian beech is not inferior in quality, and in some respects superior to Turkish.
