Description
Spruce (lat. Picea) is a coniferous coreless tree from the pine family. Norway spruce is growing in the European part of the Russian Federation, Siberian spruce is growing beyond the Urals. Spruce forests occupy 1/8 of the area of all Russian forests. After pine, spruce is the second most common in Russia. Wood is slightly inferior to pine in strength, but is equal in resistance to deformation and the ability to hold fasteners. The wood is white, soft, light and low density. The most flexible among conifers after juniper wood. Spruce is sometimes combined with fir - the materials are similar visually and in quality.
