Description
Pine (lat. Pinus) – coniferous species from pine family. Of the more than a hundred species in the Russian Federation, common pine is widely spread, occupying 1/6 of the area of all forests. It forms pure and mixed forests in the northern regions and Siberia. The pine with a reddish core is appreciated higher than the pine with a pale yellow core. Wood is characterized by hardness, resinousness. It is durable and with medium density. Easy to process and has a pronounced texture, nice color. It does not rot, is resistant to fungus, has a minimum of knots. The barrel diameter does not change much throughout, which is important for furniture production.
